About Us

Shannon Sheridan, MSA, EA

Founder

I am Shannon M. Sheridan, MSA, EA, NTPI Fellow, PFP. I am the owner of Eclipse Account and Tax but my most important role is mother of three beautiful children. I have lived in the greater Tampa area since 2006 and have been in the tax and accounting field since 1998. Eclipse Accounting decided to specialize in trades and contractors as we saw a need to help them with advisory services. Our firm offers Tax Strategy, Tax planning, Individual and Business Tax Preparation, Sales and Use Tax, Bookkeeping, IRS Audit Representation, Budgeting, Finance Coaching, QuickBooks Training and Integration and Profit First Business Advisory. We use our expertise to lead our team to achieve client’s goals, visions and to make an impact in my community. I opened the company in 2010 and have an office located in Palm Harbor, Florida. I’ve worked for several CPA’s over the years, large tax chains, Merrill Lynch, and Bank of America tax division and what I found is business owners need more specialized services to help them make better decisions. The biggest complaint from new clients about other firms is lack of communication and we have real time communication to help with that in our workflow software.

What makes us different from other firms is that we do real time data meaning we input transactions daily so clients can make real time decisions. We also utilize technology to help clients maximize time and efficiency so they can get back to business rather than wasting so much time on administrative and office tasks. In May 2021 we began offering CFO advisory services, focusing on profit first, as we found there was a huge need for guidance to make better money decisions for business owners rather than only doing data entry and just producing financial statements. The profit first model is Income – Profit = Expenses. This allows businesses to save up for the unexpected, cut out unnecessary costs as well as cut taxes through tax strategy and save for taxes so the business pays the owners taxes, and make sure the owners get paid regularly and have quarterly distributions. At Eclipse Accounting you are not just another number. Our mission is to passionately build and service dreams by letting clients do what they are good at and we handle this side of their business.

In my spare time, I love to travel with my kids, the outdoors, painting on canvas, I enjoy running 5ks (actually I just like the medals), I’ve competed in fitness competitions to push myself to be the best me I can be for my family, my clients, and my kids. When I am not helping clients I also enjoy going blueberry picking, visiting the beach, fishing, crafts, painting, and board games.

Shannon has a Masters of Science in Accountancy, licensed by the US Treasury Dept. as an Enrolled Agent, QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor, NTPI Fellow (IRS representation credential), Profit First Professional (PFP), Certified Life Documents Organizer, Accredited Member of the National Association of Tax Preparers (NATP) and the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) Florida Society of enrolled agents Suncoast chapter (Past President and Past Vice President).

I am the Staff Accountant for Shannon at Eclipse Accounting & Tax.  When I started with Shannon, I was the administrative assistant, but I quickly found my passion for accounting & tax.  With the help and support of Shannon and my family, I received my Bachelors in Accounting in 2021.  I will be going after the Enrolled Agent credential and I would also love to get my CPA license in the future.  I love what I do here at Eclipse Accounting and Tax, and I always go above and beyond for my clients so that I can help them realize their dreams and help them achieve those dreams.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, my 3 children and my 8 grandchildren.  I also enjoy crocheting, knitting and all other sorts of crafts.

Dear Friend,

It’s one thing to manage a business, it’s quite another to grow it.

If you’re reading this, you know what I’m talking about.

It seems like the books are being handled properly. It seems like payroll is (mostly?) under control. It seems like the IRS is okay with how we’re handling our taxes. It seems like the financial reporting is in place.

We’re flush … most of the time. But we’re certainly not growing. We’re not prospering.

What are we missing?

This is a common story that we hear when we first start talking to business owners. The boxes are checked, the people are in place … but the fact is, they’re not quite sure how to optimize the financials for performance and growth.

Our specialty is in reading between the lines of the systems, the softwares, and the financial statements to see the true financial story being told … even when the reports all “seem” okay (for now).

The fact is that the Federal Government would love to have more of your business’ hard-earned money in their accounts. Your employees probably don’t care about cost control as much as they should. Your sales team might need to focus their efforts in a new direction.

But you don’t have to hand more dollars over to the government than they require, just because you don’t know their rules as well as they do. You don’t have to live in a constant state of anxiety over the state of your books. The future of your business doesn’t have to be a question mark.

Let’s get a real-time reading on your business’s financial health. Answer a few questions below to get started.

Click the button above to take your first step, and we’ll be in touch soon to follow up about your specific needs.

And of course, feel free to poke around our site and discover why we’ve been called “The Most Trusted Enrolled Agent in the Palm Harbor Area”.

Talk again soon,
Shannon Sheridan, MSA, EA

PS — When you fill out the form, we’ll also add you to our weekly email series on “Real World” Strategy for small business owners. Our readers enthusiastically forward these to their colleagues and peers all the time, because they’re not your standard “tax tips”.

PPS — Already want to come in? I don’t blame you … many people are fed up with trying to manage their books and financials on their own. Our schedule is very full … but if you call us at 727-999-6822 or Email Us, we’ll give you two options for coming in right away. We will NOT make dealing with a business advisor as painful as dealing with your books has already been!
